City of Lake Mary, You’ve Been Pumpkin’d

For the second year in a row, McCoy Federal Credit Union was the presenting sponsor of the City of Lake Mary Parks and Recreation Department’s “You’ve Been Pumpkin’d” event. First, residents registered online to have their yards “pumpkin’d” with goodies and festive décor. Then, team members from the Lake Mary Branch selected a winner each week in October in a random drawing on McCoy’s social media channels. This safe and family friendly Halloween event brings the community together, and McCoy is proud to have been a part of the fun.

Florida Municipal Power Agency, Health Fair

On Oct. 6, the Marketing Team attended the Florida Municipal Power Agency’s annual employee Health Fair. McCoy’s booth featured a disc drop game and provided an opportunity to engage with FMPA team members about various products and services.

Southeastern Food Bank, Fundraiser Dinner

Following a successful Food For Families Food Drive event for Southeastern Food Bank at the Ocoee Branch, McCoy team members attended the organization’s annual fundraiser dinner on Oct. 8. As a table sponsor, McCoy was able to further support the Southeastern Food Bank’s mission of providing food to economically challenged groups and individuals in the community.

Apopka COC, Business Expo

On Oct. 14, the Marketing Team attended the 3rd Annual Apopka Area Business Expo & Career Event at the Apopka Airport Hangars. As part of our membership with the Apopka Area Chamber of Commerce, McCoy received vendor space to network with hundreds of business owners and fellow chamber members.

Project Scholars, Pig on the Pond Community Festival

The Pig on the Pond Community Festival was held at Waterfront Park in Clermont Oct. 16-17. McCoy team members interacted with residents, offered games, handed out prizes and shared information about the Credit Union’s products and services all weekend long at this signature family friendly event. Hosted by Project Scholars, proceeds from the festival help to fund 4-year scholarships for four South Lake County students.

Children’s Safety Village, 10th Annual Trunk or Treat

On Oct. 23, McCoy sponsored the 10th Annual Trunk or Treat event at Children’s Safety Village. All decked out in a “Frozen” theme – complete with a replica of Queen Elsa’s ice castle – members of McCoy’s Marketing and HR teams passed out candy to local trick-or-treaters. Fun was had by all at this safe and free community event.

Bears Who Care, OktoBEARfest 5K Fun Run & Festival

McCoy sponsored the 4th Annual Bears Who Care OktoBEARfest 5K Fun Run & Festival at Orlando Health Horizon West Hospital on Oct. 24. Team members from the Hamlin Branch and Marketing Department cheered on runners from their vendor booth, where they offered games and handed out prizes, including a McCoy teddy bear. The sold-out event had a record 529 participants and raised over $21,000 that will go toward distributing 5,000 teddy bears and books to children who have been affected by illness, injury, disaster, or financial hardship in 2022.

Community Sponsorships

Through our partnership with 27 Community Connection, McCoy sponsored the Ride/5K for RMHCCF in support of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Florida on Oct. 10. Additionally, McCoy made a donation to Basket Brigade Central Florida, which will help to feed over 37 families this Thanksgiving.

McCoy will also be the title sponsor for the BXI Boule Foundation’s 4th Annual Dr. David Robinson Golf Classic. This event supports the Sigma Pi Phi, Beta Xi Boule BXI Foundation, and the Young Black Men of Excellence Leadership Program, which provides content and life experiences that will inform, inspire, and provide academic scholarships.

Local students will benefit from McCoy’s recent sponsorships of Ocoee High School’s Athletics Program and the 4-H Exploding Bacon Robotics Club. Additional donations were made in support of the Disciples in Training Christmas Gifts for the Fatherless initiative, the Children’s Miracle Network Dance Marathon, and to provide Halloween goodies to students in the Ocoee area.
