The McCoy Cares Foundation had a rewarding holiday season with our partners at Nemours Children’s Health. As a sponsor for the Nemours Children’s Health Elf Workshop, the McCoy Federal Credit Union team had the opportunity get hands-on with this special event.
The sponsorship covered expenses for the gift-wrapping station, where hospital volunteers wrapped all the presents that would be delivered to children staying at the hospital on Christmas. In the days leading up to the Nemours Children’s Health Elf Workshop, McCoy’s Marketing and Lake Nona Branch teams spent time sorting toy donations and organizing them by age and gender. Other McCoy team members had the opportunity to volunteer on workshop days, working side-by-side with parents to pick the perfect presents.
The McCoy Cares Foundation provided additional support for the Nemours Elf Workshop by connecting local Toys for Tots campaign partners with Nemours event organizers as they were collecting toy donations. McCoy’s Facilities team picked up 20 boxes – approximately 1,000 to 2,000 toys – from the Toys for Tots warehouse and delivered them to the hospital.
“McCoy Federal Credit Union has been an incredible partner in making the holidays brighter for families served by Nemours,” said Morgan Blair, Director of Philanthropy, Corporate Alliance, and Institutional Advancement for Nemours Children’s Health. “For the second year in a row, their sponsorship of our Elf Workshop gift-wrapping station allowed parents to ‘shop’ donated items with dignity and joy and ensured that children who couldn’t leave the hospital woke up to wrapped gifts over the holidays. We are so grateful for McCoy’s generosity and commitment to spreading cheer when it matters most.”
