Debit & Credit Card Compromise

How do I know if my credit or debit card has been compromised?
McCoy notifies impacted cardholders. If your card is compromised, we will send you a new card with a new card number.

Can you let me know more about how my card information was stolen? Where did the compromise take place?
VISA and MasterCard provides us with the necessary information to monitor potentially compromised cards, but the details of the compromise such as the exact information that was accessed or the location of the compromise are typically not provided to McCoy Federal Credit Union.

Has my card been used fraudulently?
McCoy Federal Credit Union actively monitors fraud trends to help protect its cardholders. However, we strongly encourage you to monitor your account activity on myMcCoy online and/or mobile, FREE access to your accounts 24/7.

What should I do if I experience fraud on my account?
If you see any unauthorized debit or credit card activity on your account, notify McCoy immediately by calling Cardholder Service at 1-888-987-2450. A representative is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to assist you.

Was my personal identity information stolen?
Card-related information may have been compromised. This may include cardholder name, card number, expiration date, and card verification value (CVV). The compromised information does not include other personal information such as your checking account number or social security number. Although your card information may have been exposed, it does not necessarily mean fraud has or will occur on your account.

What are the chances that I will become a victim of identity theft as a result of a card compromise?
It is unlikely that identity theft will occur. However, it is always a good idea to check your credit report regularly for incorrect information. Please visit our Security Resource Center for more information.

What is McCoy doing to protect my funds?
McCoy takes proactive measures to protect your funds by issuing a new debit or credit card. By partnering with Visa and MasterCard, McCoy is able to offer its members multiple layers of security protection against potential fraud.
